Candy has been around for hundreds of years and has come in many forms. Luckily, candy is just as flavorful today for us as the people who loved the candies in their beginning stages. You can enjoy reminiscing by consuming some of the candy that is old fashion brands still sold in the present.

All kinds of candy are included in this selection from chocolate to hard candy. Whitman’s is one company that has been around throughout many of the candy years starting in 1842. The Whitman’s sampler box of various chocolates is the one of the best-known products they sell.

Some other pre-1920 candy includes butter mints, candy corn, and candy canes. I bet you did not realize these candies have been around for more than 90 years. The hard butterscotch discs manufactured by the Brach’s company also are included in this decade.

Let’s move on to the 1920s and examine some of the candy that is retro of this time period. Some candies that came with this decade are Baby Ruth, Abba-Zaba and Bit-O-Honey and luckily, you still can buy them today. Other popular names today are Charleston In fact, these were highly popular for years beyond the 1920s.

The 1930s brought such big names as 3 Musketeers, 5th Avenue, and Chunky, along with many other candies. Kit Kat bars, candy buttons, and caramels also came out in this decade.

Now, the 1970s also saw some tasty items come on the scene. Candies and gums such as Blow Pops, Big Red Gum, Hershey’s Special Dark Bar, the uniquely-flavored Jelly Belly beans, and Gobstoppers also were brought out in the seventies. Other things from the seventies include Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip, Laffy Taffy, Reese’s Pieces and Pop Rocks.

Airheads a tangy chewy candy that was similar to taffy came into being during the 1980s. A divided bar of caramel-filled milk chocolate called Caramello started its popularity in the eighties. Other popular offerings of this time included Gummi Bears, Nerds, Skittles, Smarties, and Sour Patch Kids candies. Baby Bottle Pops, Cry Baby Sour Mini Drinks, Sweetarts, Hershey’s Cookies n’ Creme and Warheads.

You probably noticed that these vintage candies date offer a varied flavor assortments, as well as date from before 1920 through the 1990s.
