Free Online Marketing Strategy

Posted on August 31st, 2006. About Business, Marketing.

With the free marketing tools that we are going to list and explain here, you can create a whole online marketing strategy that will generate the amount of traffic needed for your website to start generating sales.

This means that you will never have to choose any tactic that requires continuous advertising investments. This does not mean in any way that there isn’t any money to be spent.

The tools that we are going to explain can be implemented either in automatic mode or manual mode. The manual mode proved to be a very time consuming effort that is considered not only inefficient but can also be ineffective sometimes.

The automatic mode on the other hand can really save you a lot of time. A time that you can use to further your knowledge in online business and to keep yourself updated with what is new in the market, which a must in this industry.

Time is not the only advantage of automatic implementation, but listing all the advantages of such implementation will make us deviate from our main objective which is to discuss the tools and tactics that would compose a whole free online marketing strategy.

Choosing the automatic mode means that you will need to buy and use software programs that will enable you to automate the process. Buying those software packages is where the investment lies. I highly recommend you to buy software packages that require only a one time investment rather than a monthly subscription.

Now let us get started with the list of tactics that would give you a free online marketing strategy:

1) Directory and Search Engine Submission: It is recommended to start with this tactic as it is expected that this tactic bring solid and continuous traffic. Yet it needs time to build your position especially within the search engines. When we say search engines, it doesn’t mean that we are talking only about the big names. If you submit your website to the smaller search engines, that can contribute to your position within the big players.

2) Reciprocal Linking: This tactic has gained a little bit of controversy lately. Many prefer one way links rather than exchanging links. I would agree with them, but what could it hurt to follow both tactics? With reciprocal linking you exchange links with other websites. This can really be time consuming if you are not automating the process.

3) Posting in Forums: Posting in active forums has a double impact. Not only you are generating traffic from people clicking your link in you signature line, but also you get one way back links as these forums are open to search engines and therefore, your posts with your signature are listed in those engines.

4) Article Submission: There are numerous directories that accept article submissions which would gain you a huge amount of one way back links to your website. Your priority is to find directories with high traffic and ones that have the ability to distribute your articles to other websites, e-zines, e-mail groups and other kinds of publishers.

5) Pinging: Pinging your Blog and your dynamic pages of your site. If your Blog is hosted on your server as an extension of your website, you can Ping your Blog to update search engines with the new changes. This will encourage search engine spiders to crawl to you Blog and eventually to your website. Also you can create dynamic content on your website by adding articles and news feeds to keep you website fresh with new content. This is something that search engines like and accordingly you can Ping those pages of your website to accelerate the spider crawling procedure.

With the above five pillars of free online marketing strategy you can create full aggressive campaigns to generate traffic and sales without having to spend any money.

Understanding The Basics of a Mortgage

Posted on August 28th, 2006. About Business, Marketing.

A mortgage is nothing but a loan secured against the property that is your home, here secured means if you are not prompt with your loan payments, the lender has the rights to sell you home to take back his amount he has lent to you. A mortgage is nothing but a piece of paper, but the paper is so important that any individual see during his financial life.

Anyone would prefer to go for a secured mortgage for the home and it is not so tough today as the mortgage is available for any kind of financial requirement, but choosing the right one is important and it deserves a little knowledge.

Its huge amount required for mortgage and to settle this huge amount you require long time. The most famous mortgage that is a fixed mortgage available with the option of repayment in 30 years, there are 40 years mortgage, 20 years mortgage and 15 years mortgage available and are famous too.

When you purchase a home, you need to reserve your money for insurance, taxes in an escrow account, so when you get the mortgage, your payment would be divided into 4 categories that is called PITI (Principal, Interest, Taxes and Insurance)

Principal is the loan amount balance and that gets paid during the years of mortgage you have chosen. Interest is the amount you pay for the loan amount, in amortized loans the entire repayment of loan amount goes for the interest in the early years and in the later years repayment goes for the principal loan amount. Taxes is something you owe annually to the government for water treatment, schools and to the cop on the corner and at this time the escrow account helps you to make the payment in monthly installments. Insurance is very important thing as you can’t imagine losing your home for any kind of disaster, and this insurance is being paid by escrow account in 12 installments.

Fixed rate mortgage are static, when you are planned to stay in the same place for a long time the fixed rate mortgage is the best as there would be no change in monthly payments for the loan amount you have gone for 15 years or 30 years of mortgage.

Incase you have no intention to stay in the same home for long years you can opt for Adjustable rate mortgage that is ARM. This adjustable rate mortgage has variable rate of interest and the payment varies annually or anytime whenever there is change in the interest rate. If the interest rate goes up your mortgage payment goes up.

Adjustable Rate Mortgages are being called as “Interest rate risk” unlike fixed rate mortgages where you are very confident about how much you are making the payment for the principal, interest, taxes and insurance every month through out your loan repayment years.

Critical 1st Steps to Home Business Success

Posted on August 26th, 2006. About Business, Marketing.

Stories of online riches have lured many would-be entrepreneurs to the search engines, seeking a way to generate extra cash or build their home business empires. Working from home certainly does have its allure; putting an end to the daily commute, spending more time with the family, marketing yourself or product and making your income without the boss looking over your shoulder. The internet has made it possible for a single person to compete with the largest of companies. The start up with online businesses can, indeed, be very attractive.

The truth is, all of us want a better lifestyle. But how many of us have the resources and/or training to make it happen? Statistics show that over 90% of home based businesses fail. A key reason is that most of these people have little to no skills when it comes to Sales & Marketing. These are critical piece of making any business (home or otherwise) fly.

One ingenious business (http://www.1stepvip.com) not only provides these skills as its core product, but it also offers a business opportunity behind it that can potentially generate the owner a very significant wealth building business. By providing sales and marketing training side-by-side with the business opportunity, the chances for success are greatly enhanced.

Our recommendation is, before beginning any business, be sure to identify your goals and plan. This is huge. Starting a new business is kind of like eating an elephant—you’ve got to do it one bite at a time. Set some focused time aside to put your plan together on what you want to accomplish and how you’re going to do it.

Your goals should be broken down into short-term (less than a year) and long term (1-5 years). Everything you do to accomplish your short term goals will put you that much closer to your long-term goals. Break these down into what you need to do on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.

If you look at internet marketing and business with the mind set that you have to make $500/day within the first week, you’ve got to consciously outline the time and resource plan or you may just setting yourself up for disappointment and failure. Like any real business venture, there are things to learn…processes to implement. Set your customized goals and work toward bigger goals while keeping in mind your $500+ per day goal as motivation and it will happen!

THIS IS IMPORTANT: Your goals need to be written down on paper!

Buy a journal or set up a file on your computer to monitor and adjust them as needed. When you do this, you will find that you become more accountable and responsible for them, than if they are only verbal or in your head. When you commit to your goals, date and sign it. To commit even more, share your goals with someone you respect; someone who will respond in a positive way to your ambitions. You’ve now “published” your goal—this deepens your commitment and ideally sets up a mentor or coach to help you achieve surpass your target.

Be specific…a goal to “make a lot of money” is not specific. But a goal to “generate over $100, 000 in my 1st year” is.
Once you’ve established your written goals, develop your plan. Break this down into daily activities you need to accomplish to bring you closer to your goals.

One of the main facets to this is to develop priorities and a time management program. We only have so much time in the day. Each evening, sit down and make a list of what I must do the following day. Whatever you have to do the following day, whether it’s getting a haircut, washing the car, going grocery shopping, or registering for a Free lead generation service, write it down.
Also break those down into 3 sections:

1. Things critical to my goals
2. Tasks that are important to do, once the essentials are done
3. Items you want to get done once the 1 & 2 are completed

This may sound obsessive, and it may be. However, it is critical to deliberately manage your time to focus on what you ultimately want. Make it a habit to not procrastinate. This is a killer, especially for home business owner. Remember, you are the driver…the boss. You got to make the decision…to make decisions.

If you take the time to identify your goals, and build the plan to get there, your dreams of home business success are not far away.

What is a Reverse Mortgage

Posted on August 25th, 2006. About Business, Marketing.

Reverse mortgage is a new kind of loan against your home that you need not pay back as long as you live in that house. With reverse mortgage you can mortgage the value of your home in cash without repaying the loan every month and as well as without moving out of the house, and this cash can be repaid in several ways like you can pay at one stretch in single lump sum of amount, or in regular cash advance monthly, or in credit line account that is you can decide how much available cash can be paid or combinations of any of these methods.

No matter how you pay back this loan, as you do not need to pay back anything until your death or sell your home or move out of your house permanently. For the eligibility of reverse mortgage you should have own your home and your age should be 62 years or older.

For other kind of loans the lender check your income documents for the verification of your repayment status monthly, but in reverse mortgage there is no need of repayment of loan monthly, so you need not require any income proof, even if you have no source of income but still you are eligible of reverse mortgage.

With other kind of mortgages you may lose you home incase if you do not make your repayment monthly, but in reverse mortgage you may not lose your home by not making the repayment, mostly reverse mortgages does not require any repayment as long as you live and that is the reason reverse mortgage differs from other loans

With reverse mortgage your debt gets increased and the equity of your home decreases, as the lender lends you the cash and you don’t make the repayment, and the debt amount get increased as the interest is being added up with your balance loan amount and ultimately your debts increase and your equity decreases, unless the value of your home is getting increased. Incase if the value of your home decreased there will not be any equity left out except your loan amount so it is nothing but spending down your home equity while you live in your home with out the need of making repayments.

Exception in reverse mortgages are when you get the loan advance without interest charged on it your debt would remain the same and your equity would grow with the increase in home value. But normally home value does not grow at high rates and also the interest rate is also charged so finally the majority of the reverse mortgages ended up with “falling equity and rising debt” loans.

5 Steps to Success in the Private Label Water Business - Affiliate Program Success for Profits and Wealth

Posted on August 25th, 2006. About Business, Marketing.

The private label bottled drinking water is a growth industry with double digit growth and profit opportunities for the entrepreneur. But like most opportunities care must be taken to seek out and exploit the most profitable niche in the market.

A recent market study examined the growth and potential of the market for bottled water and concluded:

“The bottled water industry grew about 10% in 2005, while carbonated soft drinks revenue is essentially flat,” says Gary Hemphill, marketing director of BMC. “There are a couple of things driving the market—sure, people like to have a tap water substitution, but it’s really driven by people’s demands for a healthier alternative to the wide array of beverages on the market.”

Private label water is the fastest growing segment of the overall bottled water market and its future growth is considered by many to be “explosive”. .

Private label water combines the purity of refreshing drinking water with consumable advertising that is designed to an individual customer’s specification. The water is popular and the branding message, if designed properly, serves to promote business.

Almost every company in the United States can benefit from private label water with a custom branding message. The opportunities are huge, the market is largely untapped and the private label product is viewed by customers as a cost effective, power way to promote a brand message.

The bottled water industry consists of a number of interrelated parts including research and development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. Much of the business model however, requires significant amounts of capital and has high barriers to entry for most entrepreneurs.

Nevertheless, with the advent of the internet and e-commerce, an aggressive sales focused entrepreneur can develop a substantial profitable private label business through affiliate programs .

What Are Affiliate Programs?

Affiliate programs are revenue sharing programs between an entrepreneur and a company that manufactures and sells a product or service. Affiliates are rewarded with referral payments for sending customers to the manufacturer’s Web site. The process works as follows:

• The affiliate place links on its site to a particular manufacturer’s Web site.

• When a visitor clicks on the link and makes a purchase the affiliate earns a referral fee that is a percentage of the total sale.

• The best manufacturer sites have automatic payment mechanisms and real time accounting.

But an efficient affiliate site requires planning and work. Many affiliates believe they will be able to just put up a Web site, establish some affiliate links and sit back and wait for streams of cash to start coming in. Care must be taken however to be truly successful. Consider the following:

• What type of Web site should you have to make money through affiliate programs?

• What are the best programs for your site?

• How will you effectively market your site and the underlying product?

• How can you find niche markets?

Similar to other facets of developing a home business, careful planning is needed to map out a profitable strategy for building a home based business using affiliate programs - a strategy that will allow you to build income through content in a sustainable, month after month way.

The issue is – what are the steps required to develop an income producing web site using affiliate programs that generate consistent, substantial revenue?

Tip Number 1: Align With a Manufacturer That Produces A Quality Product With Unique Features and Manages a Robust Affiliate Program.

As any good sales person will tell you, a high quality product is mandatory for sales success. Look for a company that manufactures (resellers add little value) a quality product that is recognized as different in the marketplace. There are many types of water in the market but purified water is clearly recognized as the highest quality.

After identifying a manufacturer with a quality product offering, chose one with a robust, profitable affiliate program. This should include at a minimum:

• commitment to affiliate success

• commission plans that are substantial

• a website that allows for easy ordering and accrual and payment of commissions

• support for marketing, selling and booking of orders

Tip Number 2: Identify a Niche Market and Create a Plan to Penetrate That Niche Deeply

Avoid the tendency to mass market and “shoot at the flock”. Mass marketing is beyod the scope of most companies and entrepreneurs. There are many profitable niche markets that have significant growth potential. Identify a niche market, understand the buying patterns of that niche and penetrate the market. It takes time and work but done right this effort is very profitable.

Some examples of niche markets: hotels (small and large), health spas, golf courses, gyms, car dealerships, organizations and health clubs to name a few. Almost any organization is interested in promoting their brand and brand message in a cost effective way.

Tip Number 3: Create an Eye Catching Website With a link to The Manufacturer

One of the advantages of an affiliate program is that profitable business can be developed with only a nominal investment. Given today’s technical level of internet development expertise, creation of an attractive web site is easy and cost effective. The critical part of the website however is the creation of a focused message presented in an attractive manner.

Following the creation of the site, establish a banner link with the chosen manufacturing partner that will direct affiliate inquires to the site for order creation and booking of the affiliate commission.

The manufacturer’s site must be able to design and produce labels, provide powerful e-commerce facilities for order booking and shipment and include a facility for the booking and payment of commissions to the affiliate.

Tip Number 4: Create and Implement a Sales Strategy

A clear sales strategy is the most effective path to success and profits in the private label business. Identify in writing the target niche, strategy to penetrate that niche, buying patterns, target prospects and communication material (sales collateral) and tactics to sell targeted prospects. Then implement the strategy in an organized manner and make adjustments to the strategy as conditions change. Remember the old sales adage “Always Be Closing”.

Tip Number 5: Follow Up on All Orders and Provide Feedback to Customers

As part of any effective sales effort, follow up and feedback with and to customers is critical to maintaining good customer service and obtaining repeat orders. One of the most powerful aspects of private label water sales is that happy customers tend to be repeat customers. Creation of a long customer list with satisfied customers will generate a steady stream of repeat orders and significant cash flow.

Merchant Accounts for Home Business

Posted on August 24th, 2006. About Business, Marketing.

Copyright © Philippe de Tiege
http://www.PhilippedeTiege.com

What is a “high-risk” merchant and how do you know whether-or-not you are in the category? If you are what can you do to change your status? Some examples of high-risk merchants include:

* Internet or E-commerce
* Telemarketers
* Travel or Cruise companies
* Internet Auctions
* Businesses that offer memberships to join their business.

If you own a high-risk business this is not a reason for immediate denial of operating with a merchant account. Although you may face a few, more challenges than other types of businesses in acquiring a merchant account. Other factors that are considered when you apply for a merchant account would be how long your business has been in operation, credit history, how you made payments with other merchant accounts or with other processors. This information will help those who are considering your account as to whether-or-not you will be faithful to your payments.

If you want to increase your opportunity to gain a merchant account here are a few tips that may help you:
* Take care of your credit report. If you have anything negative or that may be false, clear it up immediately.
* Do not lie or hold back any information on other accounts you may have had. If you had problems in the past be up front about them. You do not want them to find out something happened different from what you reported on the application.
* You may be offered the account but at a higher rate than what you want, be willing to accept higher fees if they offer it to you. In this way, you can prove yourself and eventually move to an account with lower fees.
*
The amount of time you have been in business is important because those providers of merchant accounts want to make sure you know what is going on and what is expected of you. By looking at the time, you have been in business they can determine if you understand the risks you face and if you know how to prevent fraud and understand the dynamics of managing credit cards. If you have not been in business long this tells the merchant operator that you may not be ready for this type of account.

Of course, your credit report will show your worthiness to be extended credit as they look for how you have repaid loans, do you have any liens on properties or judgments that are against you. They want to see if you have filed any bankruptcies. If you have a positive credit score this will work in your favor even if your business may be new and if you can prove that you are financially responsible they will look more favorably to offering you a merchant account.
